Helge Seetzen, CEO
Helge Seetzen is a successful entrepreneur with deep experience in the multi-media technology space. He has repeatedly built high performance teams in both the start-up and corporate environments. His last start-up, BrightSide Technologies, was successfully sold to Dolby Laboratories for US$28M at high return to shareholders after having grown to over 30 developers. He obtained an interdisciplinary Ph.D. (imaging systems) from the University of British Columbia and holds over 30 patents in the video space.
Craig Hennessey, CTO
Craig Hennessey is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UBC. His research interest is in the area of human computer interaction, with a focus on interaction based on eye gaze. He is CTO and founder of Mirametrix Research and director of the HCI group. Craig completed his Bachelor of Applied Science at Simon Fraser University in 2000, and his Master of Applied Science and Doctorate degrees from UBC in 2005 and 2008 respectively.
Martin Girard, VP Product
Martin Girard has over 15 years of experience in object oriented design. He’s held team leadership positions at Matrox, Discreet & AutoDesk. He was also the Director of Engineer at DigiScreen and Head of Development at First Person Plural Inc. Martin completed his Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1994 at Université de Sherbrooke and is the inventor of the patent “Generating image data” in 2004.
Rawy Iskander, VP Sales
Rawy Iskander has more than 10 years of international sales, marketing and business development experience. Prior to joining Mirametrix, he held senior positions at Ericsson where he has last served as Senior Vice President for Ericsson’s Network Business Unit in North Africa. Rawy holds a Bachelor degree and Masters of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt and an MBA from École Supérieure Libre des Sciences Commerciales Appliquées (ESLSCA), France.
Amineh Younes, Product Manager
Amineh Younes ensures that the Mirametrix eye tracking solutions continue to meet the customer requirements. Her past experience includes sales, client service and product roles at Systemex Communications, Groupe Dynamite and BackCheck. Amineh obtained a B.Com. in Marketing and Human Resources from Concordia University.
Naoufel Testaouni, Sales and Marketing Manager
Naoufel Testaouni is a young entrepreneur and founder of two startups in the education and entertainment industry. He held leadership positions within AIESEC Morocco and AIESEC United States, based in New York, where he manages global programs and operations. Most recently, he worked for Microsoft Middle East and Africa as Community Affairs and Citizenship coordinator managing regional programs. Naoufel completed his bachelor in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing and communication at Université de Quebec a Chicoutimi.
Peter Lawrence, Advisor
Peter Lawrence received a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto in 1965, a Masters in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan in 1967 and a Ph.D. in Computing and Information Science at Case Western Reserve University in 1970. Subsequently, he was a Guest Researcher in the Dept. of Applied Electronics of Chalmers University of Technology in Goteborg, Sweden (1970-72), and a Research Staff Member and Lecturer in the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge (1972-1974). He joined the University of British Columbia in 1974 and is now a Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering.
